Shopping On My Radar This Month-October Edition

As I surf around the internet, searching through my favourite shopping sites, like Elemis, L’Occitane and new loves like Ffern perfumes, I am always finding new and interesting products, some of which include new technology, skincare advances or fascinating dispensary methods for a more quality product.

So here I give you a few lovely little things that have been on my mind this week, from jewellery to a new book I’ve now decided to buy. Shout ladies!

L’Occitane 86 Champs Fig & Rose Candle

This beautiful candle comes from a collaboration between two brands that hold French artisanal practices in high esteem, Pierre Herme and L’ Occitane En Provence. While Pierre Herme specialises in delicacies like custom made macaroons, L’ Occitane focus’s its energies on helping provencal producers grow their best crops.

I, own the 86 Champs Fig & Rose Eau de perfume which has surpassed all other fragrances and landed itself a place as my favourite perfume. The tantalising rose and rich fig, matched with creamy amber create a divine fragrance that lasts for hours. As a lover of candles, great and small the 86 Champ is on my wishlist.

Elemis Superfood Vinegar Liquid Glow Toner

I am always one to keep up with Elemis, their beautiful Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm made me a customer for life, as well as their oh-so-helpful consultation service.

This products sunset glow caught my eye, as I am also a fan of the Superfood AHA Glow Cleansing Butter, as you can see I am a bit of a cleansing balm nut! This formula is also infused with AHAs derived from Apple Vinegar, Apricot and Peach to improve the skin’s texture, minimise pores and remove the last refuges of grime from your cleanse.

Dior Addict Lip Maximiser in 103 Pure Gold

To me this golden gloss conjures images of slender flutes filled with champagne, creamy silk shirts and the splendid fireworks of a New Year’s Eve party, it has that glamour and fun around it. With autumn around the corner, I am thinking about the holiday season and all that goes with the festive time, especially as my lip care always echoes holiday cheer. Dior has always steered me right with their make-up and with how much I enjoy my Dior Addict Lip Maximiser in Rosewood, I am excited to see what fun they will bring to the Christmas season.

Summer 21 Organic Eau de Parfum from Ffern

A brand that’s recently come onto my radar is the Somerset-based Ffern, which is a little amusing as I live within the county. Ffern, unlike many, is committed to carefully distilling just four parfums each year which is exclusively released to members of their ledger on each equinox and solstice. Each batch is tightly controlled and sustainably produced to keep waste at a minimum, the whole distilling and packaging process is plastic-free. As a newly minted member of the ledger, I excitedly await my fragrance which is amusingly cloaked in mystery, as even us chosen members know nothing of the notes or wonderful plants used. I can say this in the knowledge that if I don’t like my fragrance when I sample the tester that arrives with each pack, I can return it freely. Ffern also makes note of every fragrance batch they make so if I fall in love with a particular scent they’ll make it again, just for me.

What a service!

Unquiet Women by Max Adams, Waterstones

Unquiet Women caught my attention while perusing my local Waterstone’s in Bath. Unashamedly it was the cover that drew me in first, and as the book is full of tales of women shouting to be heard, I liked that the cover echoed that sentiment. We follow these women from the ruins of the Roman Empire to the Enlightenment, a time that was anything but enlightening for women and changed lives forever. From Hypatia, the first documented mathematician harking from ancient Greece to Artemisia Gentileschi, a wonderfully accomplished painter from the seventeenth century, there are many tales of women who lie quite forgotten and it is us who must dust them off again and shout their names.

Marie Antoinette Pearl Earrings from Lily & Rose

As you can probably tell by now I am a bit of a magpie for things that sparkle, so falling in love with the brand Lily & Rose was bound to happen. This brand sprang from the mind of the timeless vintage worshipper Therese Zetterberg, whose couture bridal gowns captured both her native Stockholm and lots of Europe. The brand has paid tribute to the famous queen of France, Marie Antoinette by capturing the beauty and style of Rococo baubles, even some of her pieces are kindly replicated for the 21st-century lady to wear with confidence.

For those of you, like myself who adore a faithful reproduction of the bejewelled piece, I must say Lily & Rose do a splendid job. The earrings play off the Queen’s necklace, said to be one of her favourites.
